This dramatic ornament, sculpted by Ray Ayres for Border Fine Arts in 1972, is a multicoloured sculpture made of resin. Hand painted in Scotland ” Holding Her Ground” (B0500) depicts a Swaledale ewe with her lamb. Standing on a rocky outcrop, she is confronted by a border collie sheepdog, determined to re-unite them with the rest of the flock, Showcasing the craftsmanship, the intricate details perfectly capture the tension of the moment. Part of the James Herriot collection, it was a limited-edition piece (242/2500). Pre-owned in good condition it is presented with the original polished wood plinth but missing the LE certificate. Border Fine Arts’At The Vintage’ Model by Ray Ayres (B0517) with certificate and box – slight a/f This stunning’AT The Vinatge’ with certificate and box is manufactured by the well renowned Border Fine Arts, Scotland, England. This model features a farmer on his Fordson E27N Tractor with a plough on the back. This was modelled by Ray Ayres and it was put into production in 2000 in a limited edition of only 2000 models produced, this is model number 603. The condition on this model is good, the tractors pipe is missing (please see photo, it is very minor and not noticeable when displayed, there is a small part of the exhaust that I found, please see photo), however there is no further damage including no cracks and no restorations! This is a charming piece with a stunning classic look. Complete with certificate and original box.

Border Fine Arts “Ridging Up” Fordson Dexta tractor scene by Ray Ayres. A classic Border Fine Arts countryside model depicting a Fordson Dexta tractor at work, complete with driver and two seagulls. A nicely detailed piece mounted on the original wooden plinth and ideal for collectors of Border Fine Arts or farming models. Overall very good cosmetic condition. Both seagulls have broken wings (damage clearly shown in photos). No other damage noted. Paintwork, tractor and base present well. Please study all photos carefully as they form part of the description. This piece is extremely delicate due to the fine detailing and raised elements. It will be packed very carefully with padding and protection; however, due to the fragile nature of the item, I cannot guarantee it will arrive in perfect condition. AS TITLE AND PICTURES SUGGEST. A BFA ORNAMENT IN USED CONDITION. CAME IN FROM A HOUSE CLEARANCE WHICH HAD BEEN SITTING EMPTY FOR OVER 5 YEARS. THE ITEM IS VERY DIRTY & ALL IVE DONE IS RUN UNDER WARM WATER TO REMOVE THE EXCESS DUST ETC OFF, DOES NEED A GOOD CLEAN FURTHER. ONLY DAMAGE I CAN SEE IS THE DOG SITTING ON THE WALL HAS LOST AN EAR. This model features a farmer feeding his sheep while his border collie is sat in the back box of the Fergie TE20. This was modelled by Ray Ayres and it was put into production in 1999 it is a limited edition of 1750 this is number 561. It is apart of the’James Herriot Collection’ series. The condition on this model is fantastic! There is no damage at all, including no cracks, no chips and no restorations! (There is one tractor glass pane that needs sticking back in, very easy fix, see photo) This is a charming piece with a stunning classic look.
