Beautiful, MINT condition, Limited Edition Border Fine Arts Sculpture “A Warm Day Walling” signed by artist Ray Ayres (see photo #7). This gorgeous, hand painted sculpture is number 80 out of only 1250 pieces produced, and it is quite rare. Includes the original box (box shows wear, and is without the original styrofoam insert) and the Certificate of Authenticity, also the leaflet explaining the artistic process, and the original invoice from Talbot Galleries in Lancaster dated April 17, 1990 with the list price of 150 pounds. It is quite heavy, weighing in at 5 1/2 lbs. And is composed of handmade Thorionware, a unique resin composition developed by Border Fine Arts which allows the artist great scope for exciting, detailed designs previously impossible in ceramic sculptures. Each piece is hand painted with special enamels that fuse with the white body to produce a lifelike ceramic finish after firing. The subject is two men hard at work building a wall on a warm day, while their dog watches their efforts! Note the details in their tools, including a plumb line to make sure the wall is even! The sculpture measures 11″ in length, 8″ in width and 8 in height and sits atop a curved hardwood base. This piece is one of an attractive series of sculptures by leading artists especially commissioned by Border Fine Arts. Every sculpture is individually hand painted by a specially trained artist and each piece bears the artist’s initials (see photo #7). Every piece is signed and a Certificate of Authenticity issued. The Border Fine Arts Studio Co. Is located in Langholm, Dumfriesshire, Scotland.
