This is a superb example of the seldom seen Border Fine Arts Model No 118 of a “Herdwick Ewe” by their master sculptor Ray Ayres. The Herdwick Ewe was introduced in January 1990 & retired December 1991 & now commands a very high value. The mounted piece measures 6″ x 4.5″ x 4 high, and is in excellent condition. The base of the plinth is covered in green baize & the figurine has the BFA label. Border Fine Arts TWO’S COMPANY + Stand Ltd Ed Terrier Figurine L56 Ray Ayres. Border fine arts figurine two’s company on original wooden stand. This is a fantastic looking figure group of three terriers by Ray Ayres issued in 1983. It was issued as a Limited Edition of only 850 and this is number 445 as shown on the figure – as pictured. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or restoration and it sits on, but is not attached to, a wooden stand. The wooden stand suffers as they all do from having faded around the edge but it is only obvious if the figure is removed. INCLUDING THE WOODEN STAND it is approximately 4 inches (10.1cm) in height, 9 inches (23cm) at its widest and 7.25 inches (18.5cm) at its deepest. I have as usual shown a number of pictures which can all be enlarged for you to see the condition for yourself. All white dots/blotches are light reflection not faults – my apologies. I think the pictures speak for themselves but if I can tell you any more please ask. For more expensive items these may be the only options offered. (this excludes weekends and Bank Holidays).
