This stunning sculpture, created by the artist Ray Ayres for Border Fine Arts, was commissioned by The Posthorn, Castle Douglas. It is presented here in the original box and protective packaging together with a Certificate of Quality and the Certificate of Authenticity which certifies that it is number 250 of a strictly limited golden Edition of 350 pieces out of an edition of 950. It is a large model, 19ins (49cm) in length and in superb condition. “Clean Sweep” depicts a farmer and his horse’sweeping’ up the hay using a wooden Haysweep (or Tumbling Tam), an American invention that arrived in Britain in the late nineteenth century. Employed with a single, steady fast walking horse it scooped up the hay in a mounting pile ready to be dropped into a cart.
