When Border Fine Arts were approached by the Irish Draught Horse Society to consider sculpting one of their mares they were delighted to take them up on their request. Rather than just reproduce a static breed study, they immediately set themselves the challenge of depicting this magnificent breed in its natural environment, in full flow in the countryside. There’s nothing better than the feel of fresh air in your face, the sound of your horse’s hooves drumming at a canter, as you enjoy’a good day out’ hacking along the country lanes and Anne Wall has really captured this in her wonderful figurine.
