“Last Laff” by Lowell Davis. Limited edition figurine 12/1200. It was manufactured by Border Fine Arts in Scotland and distributed by Schmid. Comes with a removable wood base. Measures approximately 12.5″ long x 6.75 wide and 5.5″ tall (includes base). It is in very good condition. This is from the Lowell Davis Collectors website I feel very fortunate to have been (excuse the pun) on the tail end of the workhorse era. My grandfather and other relatives worked horses on their farms so l like to have workhorses on my farm today. I also like to tinker with the old tractors that I have. One day I was tryin’ to get one of them started down in the pasture when ol’ Barney came up to see what I was doing. I could swear I heard him laugh as he was looking over my shoulder. 1992 Schmid Border Fine Arts Lowell Davis Not sure if number means Artist Proof since is S/18/1500; also by the Lowes Davis has initials Wooden base not labeled and not attached Fresh Squeezed? This Lowell Davis figurine was produced at the Border Fine Arts Studio in Langholm, Scotland through an innovative process that captures the intricate detail, vibrant realism and brilliant color of Lowell Davis’ art. The master mold was created from an original wax sculpture by Lowell Davis. The casting was approved as a faithful rendering of Lowell’s original work of art. It was prepared for painting through a delicate process called fettling, during which craftsmen carefully remove seams and flashings and assemble by hand each crafted component including such handpainted, ceramic accessories as a car and driver, lemonade stand roof and vendor. The figurine was handpainted with numberous applications of subtly blended, special enamel tones according to Lowell’s strict color specifications.
