Beautifully sculpted by the highly acclaimed wildlife artist. This piece features a stunningly detailed male ring-necked pheasant perched atop a naturalistic birch tree stump accented with wild red toadstools. This piece was issued in. And stands as a wonderful testament to the classic craftsmanship of the Langholm, Scotland pottery. It comes mounted on its original polished mahogany-style wooden plinth. The highly vulnerable areas-including the long central tail feather, sharp beak tip, fine leg claws, and fragile mushroom edges-are completely intact with absolutely no damage or structural repairs. The textured feather molding holds its vibrant, mottled colors beautifully. Under close top-down inspection, there are a few minor, tiny flecks of paint loss on the top of the green crown and on one ear tuft tip where the lighter base material shows through slightly. The underside retains its original green felt baize and the crisp factory adhesive tracking label. The molded resin base also features the authentic incised. Maker stamps alongside David Walton’s molded signature. Includes the original Border Fine Arts retail box, which is in sturdy, clean condition with minor vintage shelf-wear along the corners and a handwritten identifying label on the front right. 23 cm (9 inches). 17 cm (6.7 inches).
