The Passion of Tango. By Richard Young (R Young Art) – Professional Artist. I produce all prints using my Epson Sure Colour professional printers at a high definition 2880 x 1440 dpi, 98% pantone, using genuine Epson UV resistant 10 colour 100% pigmented inks, guaranteed lightfast for 75 years on the highest quality media. Produced using my professional Epson Sure Colour P9000 wide format printer on genuine Epson roll feed heavy 350gsm premium satin canvas. They may be stretched and hung unframed, stretched and framed, or mounted on board and framed. All good framers are able to do either. They may also be varnished if required, to maximise resilience if they are not framed behind glass. By default, I leave a small 1cm border to maximise the image size and the print should then be mounted on board. If the print will be stretched, a 5cm border is required though the image may be slightly smaller. Personally, I recommend the small 1cm border to maximise the image size on the canvas and the print should then be mounted on board during framing. Should be mounted on board and framed behind glass for protection. There will be a small border around the image. 61cm and above are produced using my professional Epson Sure Colour P9000 wide format printer on roll feed heavy matt coated 230gsm premium paper. 42cm x 59cm and below are produced using my professional Epson Sure Colour P5000 printer on cut sheet silky smooth white cotton (rag) 310gsm archival quality, acid free paper. I sign each print in permanent ink in either black, gold or silver as appropriate, placed within the artwork image itself at the lower right. Upon request, I can also write the artwork title at the lower centre. I can print at any specific custom size up to 112cm (44) on the shortest dimension. All prints are supplied unframed. My prints are a perfect gift for yourself or someone special, and are something much more individual and personal than a cheap poster or print of a photograph. Be careful of poor quality prints from other sellers that use either low quality images, non-branded inks or non-branded media, as you will only be disappointed. Though I have always had a flair for art, I graduated in engineering in 1983 and with a passion to travel, I initially pursued a career as an engineering and design consultant, holding various managerial roles with international design consulting companies, residing primarily in the Middle East. My engineering and project management background has certainly helped me in the technical, administrative, and organisational aspects of my art practice and there is also a noticeable influence in my composition and creativity. I have extensively developed my own personal style and technique throughout my career, and I create all oil paintings entirely using a knife, often in a limited colour palette and mixing only on the canvas. I define my artwork style as being contemporary realism and the technique I employ is a form of segmented alla prima, completed in three wet on wet layers during each painting session: The dark shadows and undertones, the mid tones and then the highlights and light glaze effects. For compositions having a high chiaroscuro effect, I complete the underpainting layer in a lean black paint allowing the sweeping knife application textures to remain and effect the main subject in the second layer which transition into the deep shadows in a drybrush technique by scraping back. My figurative compositions are influenced and inspired by the realism and romanticism of my favourite post renaissance classical master’s and their timeless, romantic masterpieces. William Bouguereau in particular. With the subjects, I aim to capture a carefully composed aloof anonymity in a moody atmosphere with the drama, passion, and emotion in a frozen realism, rather than characteristic individual representation of a traditional portrait.
