RARE Schmid Lowell Davis Border Fine Arts Uncle Remus Figurine Collection. These 1980/1981 Schmid figurines were designed by the legendary American artist Lowell Davis. These are from Lowell Davis’ “Uncle Remus Characters” Collection. Collection originally had 6 characters (missing weasel and rabbit). Here are 4 of those Uncle Remus characters. These have beautiful painted colors and details. Hard to find Measurements -Fox- 4.25 Tall. Wolf- 3.75 Tall. Coyote- 4.25 Tall. Bear- 6 Tall Condition -Good condition. No chips, cracks or breaks -Minimal surface wear. Bear does not have the sticker label on the base. “Last Laff” by Lowell Davis. Limited edition figurine 12/1200. It was manufactured by Border Fine Arts in Scotland and distributed by Schmid. Comes with a removable wood base. Measures approximately 12.5″ long x 6.75 wide and 5.5″ tall (includes base). It is in very good condition. This is from the Lowell Davis Collectors website I feel very fortunate to have been (excuse the pun) on the tail end of the workhorse era. My grandfather and other relatives worked horses on their farms so l like to have workhorses on my farm today. I also like to tinker with the old tractors that I have. One day I was tryin’ to get one of them started down in the pasture when ol’ Barney came up to see what I was doing. I could swear I heard him laugh as he was looking over my shoulder.
