Border Fine Arts limited edition’Grebe & Chicks’ B0973. Circa 2005 Enesco Ltd. Beautifully sculpted by Ray Ayers, Master Sculptor. Designed and hand made in Scotland. Comes complete with the Border Fine Arts Classic Craftsmanship in Sculpture Certificate to authenticate that Grebe and Chicks is number 15 of a strictly limited edition of 500 pieces. The sculpture is in excellent condition, has been displayed but very carefully behind glass and away from direct sunlight. No marks, cracks, chips or fading to sculpture and the attached wooded base. A fine green felt protective base with the original gold sticker. The sculpture has been cleaned only with a soft bristled artists brush, never been washed and will be dispatched in it’s original box with original foam protective packing. The Dmitrov porcelain factory in Verbilki, 1950-60. Measures: 26 cm in height, 32 cm in width, 9 cm in depth. The author of several compositions for Moscow metro stations, pavilions VDNH, Moscow University. Worked with easel and monumental sculpture, minor plastic art, created graphic and pictorial works. Is connected with the Russian porcelain, folk ceramics, earthenware. For the sculptural composition “Tale”, “Alexander Nevsky”, “Mother” Sergei Mikhailovich was awarded the State prize of the USSR in 1946, and for the work of “Ilya Muromets and Nightingale the robber” a silver medal at the world exhibition in Brussels in 1958.
