This multicoloured sculpture features a bordered pattern and is signed by the artist. It is number 106/1500. It is presented on a polished wood plinth. Handmade in Scotland, it is another gentle reminder of a quieter time when horse-drawn deliveries were the norm. Here we find a milkman from P & T Gray Ltd, the dairy based at Peel Farm, on his rounds. The relaxed manner in which he chats to his customer having already emptied his jug into hers, perhaps suggests that he is one of the principals, as time clearly isn’t his priority. As they converse, her cat can be seen rubbing against his leg, probably drawn there by the possibility of catching any cream that happens to drip, whilst the horse, patiently waiting, is getting acquainted with a little dog.
